Saturday Tamariki at Sorry Day Ceremony

Some of our tamariki went to Teralba Park to commemorate the National Sorry Day on Saturday 26 May 2012. The dawn service was held by a local Murri & reconciliation group to remember the stolen generation and call to honour the Bringing them home report recommendations.

Many whanau are involved in local community links with tangata whenua tuatahi, and our tamariki are very close to elders in the reconciliation group. Some of our tamariki are also tangata whenua o tenei rohe… We had an enjoyable service, breakfast and time with all the elders of the reconciliation group. Thanks to Aunty Amy, Aunty Bessie, Aunty Margaret and Aunty Rae and all the whanau who came along..
