Pirihimana hui kei Beenleigh

Tamariki kohanga recently visited the Beenleigh PCYC where Maori community held a Powhiri to welcome the incumbent Qld Police Commissioner Bob Atkinson to receive a korowai from Tu Tahi Tonu (Maori) consultative committee. Tu tahi tonu is a partnership initiative from Qld Police with the Maori community in Logan & Beenleigh.

Also attending were the Deputy Commissioner Ian Stewart, Superintendent Wallace Haumaha from NZ Police, several other senior executive from Qld Police and of course, many of our whanaunga within te iwi maori no piripane. Our tamariki were able to reconnect with whaea Brenda Cookson, one of our past kaiako and current Senior Constable within Qld Police. Whaea Brenda has been a part of our kohanga for many years and is a major asset for our community within Qld Police. Kia ora whaea! Our tamariki had a lovely day meeting with our whanaunga on the Southside and Pirihimana. Kia ora koutou katoa.
