Tamariki kohanga has been hard at their mahi on Saturdays putting murals on the outside of our whare as well as learning te reo me Kapahaka each week. For our mahi toi, tamariki have been using spray paints ‘graffiti style’ to paint koru and kowhaiwhai onto the wings of our whare in preparation for our renovation project in 2013. Our colours for the koru and kowhaiwhai are pango (black), ma (white), kowhai (yellow) me kikorangi (blue)! For te reo tamariki have been learning “kei te pehea”’ and their pepeha. This week we added “haukainga” for tamariki to learn their home suburb. And for Kapahaka we have been learning waiata poto! This week we learned our waiata tautoko for pepeha…Mihi ma ra!
Kia ora tamariki. Check out some of our pics from this Saturdays class!
And of course, hari huri tau ki a Kiara….. our tamariki will be celebrating the birthday of Kiara with a ‘night time disco’ at the whare. Happy Birthday Kiara!
