Te Kohanga ote whenua hou acknowledges the Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander peoples as the custodians of this land, and honours their ancestors, leaders and elders, past and present.
Te Kohanga Ote Whenua Hou is a Maori community association that teaches Maori language, culture, arts and dance from within a Maori cultural context. We take a strong Maori community approach to delivering its programs and activities, encouraging involvement and support from whanau, kaumatua & kuia (elders). We aim to to increase the social, economic, cultural, educational, vocational, emotional & spiritual wellbeing of community through the provision of community cultural activities as promotion, prevention and early intervention services to children, young people & their families.
